Plan 01 (Internal Flush)

Plan 01 is an internal recirculation from the pump discharge area of the pump into the seal chamber, similar to a Plan 11 but with no exposed piping.

Why do we use it?

  • When the seal heat requires a small continuous flush flow to cool the seal
  • When the product is clean and free from abrasives (as dirty products can clog the internal line)
  • When low temperatures could cause the prodcut to freeze or become too viscous with exposed piping.
  • Not recommended on vertical pumps.

Advantages:

No product contamination and no external piping, which is advantageous on highly viscous fluids at lower temperatures to minimize the risk of freezing that can occur with exposed piping.

General:

This flush plan should only be used for clean products as dirty products can clog the internal line. Not recommended on vertical pumps.
