OVERVIEW

John Crane’s Isomag bearing isolators

Isomag bearing isolators use advanced magnetic face technology to deliver reliable performance in demanding operating environments.

The lapped flat faces create a positive, liquid-tight seal that helps prevent lubricant leakage and the ingress of contaminants in both static and dynamic conditions, on horizontal and vertical equipment.

By optimising the magnetic energy loading, Isomag bearing isolators are capable of running at shaft speeds well above average, up to 15,000 feet per minute.

This performance capability allows Isomag bearing isolators to effectively seal the bearing housings on a wide variety of applications.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Common questions

What is a bearing isolator?

A bearing isolator is a non-contacting bearing protection device designed to prevent lubricant loss and block the ingress of contaminants. Isomag bearing isolators use magnetic face technology to create a liquid-tight seal that helps protect bearings in pumps and other rotating equipment.

Where are Isomag bearing isolator seals typically used?

Isomag bearing isolator seals are commonly used in pumps, motors, gearboxes and other rotating machinery. They are suitable for horizontal and vertical equipment and are often selected for applications where high shaft speeds and contamination control are key reliability concerns.
