Plan 52 (Unpressurised Vessel)

Why do we use it?
- When an arrangement 2 plan is required
- When the process fluid vaporises after leaking across the inboard seal
- When minimal emissions of the process fluid are acceptable
- When a vent/flare system is available
Advantages:
In comparison to single seals, dual unpressurized seals can provide reduced net leakage rates as well as redundancy in the event of failure.
General:
Cooling coils in the reservoir are available for removing heat from the buffer fluid.
