Plan 71 (Buffer Connections)

Buffer/Barrier
Tapped connections for purchaser’s use. Typically this plan is used when the purchaser may use buffer gas in the future.

Why do we use it?

  • When an arrangement 2 plan is required
  • When a leakage collection system is not currently required, but may be added in the future
  • When the outboard seal may require additional protection against inboard seal leakage in the future
  • When an inert gas (N2) supply is available or could be made available in the future

Advantages:

Allows the user to add a buffer gas in the future.
