What engineering means to me — Part 4

In the last of four Engineers Day blogs, we spotlight two colleagues in India and ask them what a day in their lives means to them.
Trishala Patil, Purchasing Specialist

“What makes a day memorable is not always what I achieve, but what I feel and learn along the way. Seeing people living with joy and positivity while dealing with their problems reminds me to stay positive and face my own challenges with strength.
My mornings begin with quiet reflection, a warm cup of lemon water, and sunlight peeking through the window. A calm start steadies me in the chaotic hours ahead.
As the day unfolds, the tasks rush in. I treat each with patience, understanding, and empathy. It's not about what I do, but how I do it. Working with a smile helps me work without stress.
One afternoon, in the middle of my busy schedule, a simple call from home. My husband asked, “Have you eaten? You must be tired.” So few words, but an ocean of care and positive vibes, a reminder of what makes life truly meaningful.
In the evenings, I reconnect with family, sharing laughter or simply sitting together in silence. Sometimes, we plan our whole week or month (Financial Plan) and future trips.
For me, no day is routine. Every sunrise gives us tasks, and every sunset leaves us with insights, born from love and gratitude, that make the journey worthwhile.
Sayali Dandekar, Engineer II CAD DGSS

“Recently, I had the opportunity to travel alone to the John Crane office in Tulsa, TX, U.S., for a business assignment.
What began as a work trip became a journey of learning, discovery, and personal growth. I experienced a new culture, adapted to different ways of working, and connected with people from diverse backgrounds.
All these experiences gave me insights that extend far beyond the workplace.
Every challenge along the way strengthened my confidence and broadened my perspective. I had the chance to resolve live issues faced by the production team and provide them with instant solutions.
I visited our vendors to equip engineers with a thorough understanding of the Gas Seal System skid manufacturing process, from construction to final assembly and quality assurance, while addressing ongoing manufacturing concerns in live projects.
This experience wasn't just about business; it reflected passion, dedication, and hard work. For me, it was truly a dream come true and a milestone I will always cherish.
“Through hard work comes growth, through learning comes wisdom, and through both comes true success.”
