The G58IEP Fugitive Emission Control Packing for Valves is engineered for API 624-certified valves primarily within the oil and gas, chemical processing, power generation, and pulp and paper industries
CHICAGO (May 16, 2022) ― John Crane, a global leader in rotating equipment and energy technology solutions, supplying engineered technologies and services to process industries, is pleased to announce it has joined Hydrogen Europe, one of the world’s leading hydrogen industry associations, in their mission to accelerate the deployment of the hydrogen economy.
John Crane, a global leader in rotating equipment solutions, supplying engineered technologies and services to process industries, is pleased to announce the launch of the G58IEP Fugitive Emission Control Packing for Valves that is certified to API 622, 3rd Edition and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guidelines.
The G58IEP's low-leakage packing withstands high temperatures while preventing stem corrosion and is ideal for volatile organic compounds (VOC), light hydrocarbons and steam applications. For John Crane's customers, the G58IEP reduces emissions, supports environmental goals and lowers costs associated with VOC emissions.
"Reducing emissions and decarbonization are critical objectives for many of our customers. Our new line of API 622 certified packing supports those goals by slashing emissions in API 624 certified and other valves," said Terry Lemm, John Crane Product Line Director. "We are committed to extending our product line to aid global efforts to address climate change."
Features of the G58IEP include:
- High-purity flexible graphite for excellent chemical and oxidation resistance
- A passive corrosion inhibitor to prevent stem and valve damage
- Over-knitted with Inconel wire for superior resilience in high-pressure valves
- Can be provided in spool or ring form
- Can be used in a combination set
This low-cost, easy-to-install product works on all valves throughout a facility and underscores John Crane's commitment to supporting customers―such as those in the oil and gas and chemical industries―to reduce emissions and reach decarbonization goals.
