We have recently launched our new service center in Shannon, Ireland. This service center helps reinforce our commitment in advancing technology solutions and services to keep pace with customer requirements as well as global issues.

In an era of constantly shifting landscapes—technology, marketplaces and process industries—John Crane has been able to establish itself as an adaptable, advanced technology company that continues to place its people at the center of all business ideas.

Paramount to our success is that of our customers’. Providing the proper tools—customer service, custom engineered solutions, quick turnaround, dependability and trust—is what allows us to help our customers achieve their full operational potential.

“John Crane has had a manufacturing presence in Ireland for nearly 45 years; however, with the addition of these service center capabilities, we can now directly provide faster repair service and customer support to those that need it,” said Ruben Alvarez, Executive Vice President, GeoMarkets. “Due to the mission-critical nature of our customers’ operations, they depend on us for a highly responsive service to increase uptime, reduce maintenance costs whenever possible and help them maintain environmentally safe operations. The addition of this service center will allow us to meet all customer demands, and also gives us the opportunity to build out our strong global footprint of more than 200 facilities.

Located in County Clare, Ireland, the service center service center builds on the vast experience of its local workforce and provides us with the capabilities necessary for aftermarket support for our customers within the region, as well as those within EMEA, APAC and the Americas. The service center also allows us to deliver quick turnaround service capabilities and reduce downtime costs.

In addition, this service center adds to the capabilities of the site’s already-operational manufacturing facility, having been established for nearly 45 years. The facility serves as a Center of Excellence for the production and repair of high-temperature metal bellows, including HTC types, and is the premier manufacturer and supplier of this product type for all John Crane global sites. Additional manufacturing capabilities include edge welding of exotic thin-profile materials, metal machining, hydraulic pressing, welding, and lapping and assembly processes.

John Fitzgerald, Shannon Plant Manager said, “Establishing a service center in Shannon is a testament to our commitment to provide world-class service and support to our customers. The aim of the service center is to enable effective and efficient operations for our customers through the reduction of downtime costs and service repairs. This service center also allows us to support a long-term growth vision by investing in local infrastructure and talent.”

The service center enhances our local service and support network for customers in markets such as petrochemical and refining, pulp and paper, chemical and pharmaceutical production, power generation, and the food and beverage industry, as well as both end user and original equipment manufacturer businesses. Capabilities include:

  • Fully equipped seal workshops: The workshops include seal reconditioning and repair with root cause analysis, assembly and testing facilities for standard, engineered and metal bellows cartridge seals, and optional bonded stock for contractual repair needs.
  • Seal installation and commissioning report: A dedicated service center head and area sales manager will provide expert support for all customer needs. Service engineers will deliver 24/7 support, including the provision of plant surveys and reliability improvement support.
