The Importance of Attending Industry Events

February 5, 2019 | 2 minute read

It’s no secret that industry conferences are an excellent opportunity to learn more about your sector and tap into the knowledge of industry experts. From learning new topics, taking away practical and strategic solutions, conferences deliver a vast array of useful information in a short space of time. There’s nothing quite like being on the front lines of emerging industry trends and conversations.

Networking is perhaps one of the biggest perks of attending industry events. By networking ¬with fellow industry experts, business partners, peers and clients, ¬ conferences and seminars provide the perfect platform to meet people face-to-face in your field, exchange details and chat about how you might work together in the future.

Attending a conference also allows you to showcase your business to current and potential customers. This not only helps spread the word and generate positive leads, but also helps to raise the stature of your business profile—potential customers that haven’t had the chance to meet you now have the visibility into the full scope of your business offerings and areas of expertise.

Aside from the networking and educational opportunities, conferences add great value when it comes to stimulating new ideas. When you immerse yourself in such a creative and stimulating environment, you have the potential to identify new market opportunities, learn how other businesses operate and tackle industry-specific challenges. Both seminars and workshops are great for generating finding fresh perspectives on old ways of working.

At John Crane, we pride ourselves on actively participating in relevant industry tradeshows and events across the globe. The time spent at industry events is invaluable—meeting with current customers, perspective leads, generating new ideas, educating the marketplace on our advanced offerings, introducing a new technology, or even catching up with old friends is what allows us to propel our business forward.
