The Type 588 USP (Upstream Pumping) is purpose-built for challenging applications involving solids in suspension or solution. It delivers reliable performance across various industries—including refineries, chemical and petrochemical processing, water treatment, mining, and pulp and paper.
Designed to fit API 610 pumps, the 588 USP combines a dual-balanced inboard seal with a secondary balanced outboard pusher (SBOP) outboard head in a compact cartridge format for added reliability. It uses patented spiral groove technology to circulate a product-compatible barrier fluid upstream, reducing emissions and protecting seal faces. This technology also helps nearly eliminate water consumption, improves reliability and lowers power requirements.
The 588 USP Upstream Pumping seal combines the environmental protection of a pressurised double seal arrangement with the inherent safety and simplicity of a tandem seal arrangement, providing a safe, efficient sealing solution for demanding process conditions.
