John Crane Welcomes Governor Scott Walker to its Grafton, Wisconsin Manufacturing Facility

Chicago, Ill (20 March, 2014) - John Crane today welcomed Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker to its Grafton manufacturing facility as part of his Blueprint for Prosperity tour. Management and employees provided Governor Walker an overview of the products and services John Crane provides its global energy services customers. In addition, the Governor hosted a town hall session with employees to discuss plans to increase investment in workforce training that will help to support placement of skilled employees at manufacturing companies like John Crane.

Duncan Gillis, President and CEO of John Crane, said: “It was a privilege for our employees to host the Governor at our Grafton manufacturing facility.  The manufacturing industry is faced with a critical shortage of skilled machinists and we actively support efforts to build the right training programs for high-demand positions in our industry, which will help support the placement of men and women into family-sustaining careers.”

“Wisconsin’s reputation for hard-working, motivated, employees is what allows us to have long-standing relationships with global companies like John Crane,” Governor Walker said.  “With our additional investments in worker training that I signed into law this week, we will ensure workers have the skills they need to fill manufacturing positions available now and in the future.”

John Crane participates in initiatives to address the manufacturing industry’s shortage of skilled workers. The company currently partners with Moraine Park Technical College to help design training programs and curricula based on specific skills needed for today’s manufacturing workforce.
