Power Generation Products
Many John Crane products specifically address the needs of the power generation industry by improving the productivity and performance of mission-critical operations:
O-ring Pusher Seals
Heavy-duty Type 270F and Type 48 Seals: Designed for critical high-pressure, high-temperature and high–shaft speed applications; used for boiler feedwater, circulation or start-up pumps and other high-energy applications
Type 5600 Series and Type 4600 Series Seals: Designed for sealing a wide range of fluids; used for numerous applications on condensate, cooling water, raw water, ash sluice, fuel oil and many other duties
Elastomer Bellows Seals
Type 1 Elastomer Bellows Fitted Seal: Designed for tight sealing spaces and abnormal shaft-end play, run-out and equipment tolerances; used for centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, mixers, agitators, compressors, blowers, fans and other rotating equipment
Split Seals
Type 3740 Cartridge Seal and Type 37FS Split Seal: Designed for rapid installation and maintenance without disassembling the equipment involved; used for small centrifugal pumps, split case pumps, vertical lift pumps, side-entry mixers and agitators with severe shaft run-out
Slurry Seals
Type 5860, Type 5870 and Type 5840 Slurry Seals: Designed for handling slurries with solids contents up to 60% by weight, without the need for water flush support; used for FGD slurry pumps, sludge pumps and coal slurry transportation.
Filtration Systems
Liquid Filtration: Filters designed for almost any liquid application, from lubrication, hydraulic or bearing oil systems to water injection systems.
Seal Gas Filtration: Removes liquid and particle contamination to allow continuous supply of clean, dry gas
Fuel Gas Filtration: Individually tailored for maximum reliability, regardless of the condition of the supply gas
Fuel Oil Filtration: Patented elements that remove water and particle contamination for maximum reliability
Double 3-way and 6-way Transfer Valves: Provides continuous operation while one side receives maintenance
Filter Elements: Patented design for maximum performance and running time between change outs
Process Filtration: John Crane’s Seebach filtration products help to ensure smooth process operation in power generation applications. Filters remove particles and water droplets from gaseous and liquid fuels, and from combustion air, before they enter the combustion chamber. Thus gas turbines are protected from abrasive or baked-on particles.
Power Transmission Couplings
H Series: Designed for high performance, reduced moment and low windage; used for gas turbine drives, high-speed steam turbine drives and critical boiler feed pumps
M Series: Designed to provide a good level of angular, lateral and axial misalignment while maintaining a high level of balance integrity; used for electric motor or turbine drives in the oil and gas industry
ZMH Series: Designed for misalignment tolerance and corrosion resistance; used for long DBSE applications such as forced-draft cooling towers
L Series: Designed to provide a general-purpose, cost-effective solution for demanding industrial applications; used for critical circulator pumps, cooling water pumps, fans and blowers
A Series: Designed for simple coupling replacement without moving either the prime mover or the driven equipment; used for low-duty mechanical drives, conveyors, small pumps and dosing pumps
TSKS/TSCS: Designed to give the most flexible solution for high-torque and misalignment conditions. Ideally suited to meet the pumping, motor, and turbine drive power transmission needs of the power generation industries.
Packing
Style 1625G: High-temperature graphite braided packings that offer dimensional stability, reduced process contamination and ease of use
Styles G57, G58 and G58I: High-purity, high-strength interlace braided flexible graphite packings designed to handle a wide range of fluids
100AL: Strong, compressible metallic packing that demonstrates remarkably good shaft conformability and low friction characteristics
Style 1335: Cost-effective, general-service packing constructed of the highest-quality synthetic fibers and lubricants
Style 1340: Cost-effective, general-service graphited packing designed to handle a wide range of fluids at moderate to high temperatures, pressures and shaft speeds
Seal Support Systems
WCH/WCV/K2S: Water-cooled heat exchangers for use where water is readily available
GR1/1C: General-duty reservoir that can withstand pressure up to 16.3 bar while providing buffer/barrier fluid to a dual-seal arrangement
GR2/2C: General-duty reservoir that can withstand pressure up to 30 bar while providing buffer/barrier fluid to a dual-seal arrangement
GR3/3C: General-duty reservoir that can withstand pressure up to 73 bar (stainless steel) or 62 bar (carbon steel) while providing buffer/barrier fluid to a dual-seal arrangement
GP-S/GP-D: Non-API gas control panel for filtering, regulating and monitoring gas supply to gas-lubricated pump seals
