John Crane Extends Service Capabilities in Azerbaijan with Baku Service Center Relocation

CHICAGO (November 15, 2019) ― John Crane, a global leader in rotating equipment solutions, supplying engineered technologies and services to process industries, announces the opening of its service center in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Located on the shores of the Caspian Sea, one of the world’s largest oil and gas industry hubs, the new Baku service center is twice the size of the previous center, equipping John Crane with the resources to provide additional capabilities for its increasing customer needs, including aftermarket support, quick turnaround service and downtime cost reduction. In addition, the new facility will allow John Crane to support customers in Georgia and Uzbekistan.

The Baku facility enhances John Crane’s local service and support network for OEM and end user customers serving industries in the oil and gas, power generation, chemical, mining, and food and beverage markets.

“John Crane has been supporting energy sector companies in Baku for more than a decade,” said Aziz Sallie, Managing Director, Middle East and Africa. “Our continuous investment in local capabilities, along with the request from customers for increased local support with a higher level of technology and service differentiation, clearly marked our strategy to commit to this investment. The move to a larger facility is a testament to the business growth and customer relationships we have established here and allows us to support our long-term growth vision by continuing to invest in local infrastructure and talent.”

Additional facility capabilities include:

  • Customer training: Increased facility size will allow customer product training, enabling customers to maintain their equipment performance and reliability according to the latest industry standards.
  • Enhanced efficiency: The redesign of the facility floor will reduce repair lead times and improve quality, while the addition of new seal testing technologies will provide the highest level of support for customers.
  • Fully equipped workshop: The workshop includes the capabilities to perform wet seal reconditioning and testing per API standards, as well as the stripping and inspection of dry gas seals. Expert service engineers will assist with bad actors of all seal brands, and perform root cause analysis to determine seal failures and avoid reoccurrence. Assembly and testing facilities for standard, engineered and metal bellows cartridge seals, optional bonded stock for contractual repair needs, and support for Indufil filters and couplings, as well databases covering locally installed seals and interchangeability, are all part of the new capabilities.
  • Seal installation and commissioning support: A fully dedicated team will provide support for all customer needs. Service engineers will be available 24/7, and will be available for the provision of plant surveys and reliability improvement support, including retrofit and emergency repair services for wet seals.

"The performance and functionality of our customers’ operations depend on us for a highly responsive service to increase uptime, reduce maintenance costs whenever possible and help them maintain environmentally safe operations,” said Roman Dyatlov, Sales and Service Manager, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Georgia. “And as part of our commitment to them, we are making it our mission to strengthen our service capabilities around the world and strategically build out our strong global footprint of more than 200 facilities.”
